Drive, Drive, Drive!

admin : March 2, 2012 2:07 pm : Blog

If you haven’t sen the film “DRIVE” yet, then you are truly missing out. Great film, great story, brilliantly executed.  I was first captured by the marketing materials released though. The ads, posters and banners advertising the film had a vintage feel to it with the pink “Mistrial” inspired font.

So with such beautiful typography and imagery setting the mood for the film, why on earth would they abandon this style and create this cheesy looking cover for the DVD release?!

Maybe they wanted this to appeal to the action movie crowd. By putting the main character on the cover with a hammer in a dark atmosphere makes it look like a typical action film……but this movie is everything but a typical action film. I love when studios take the “artsy/indie” route and produce a film like this but too see them switch at the last minute(at least with the marketing) they are setting themselves up for more “shoot em up” fans to declare this movie “too slow”.

Worst Mixtape covers

admin : January 1, 2012 4:59 pm : Blog

I love mixtapes and I love the underground hip hop scene but there is a lot of garbage out there. Some of these horrible rappers have enough sense to get a professional mixtape cover to go along with their horrible mixtape to throw people off. Now I have done quite a few mixtape covers and I have been paid to do some great covers for some not so great rapper in the past but who am I to judge their music. If they are paying customers and want a cover, I provide the cover. The problem I have is when these “Independent Artists” take it upon themselves to open Microsoft Word and put some “cool” fonts on a picture they took on their camera phone. That never looks good and I don’t know how they even think for a minute they are fooling anyone with their cheap looking covers. If you’re a real rapper get a real cover.

With that being said, I found this gallery of the worst mixtape covers. Now I dont agree with all of these as some are done by some really good graphic designers(kid 8, miami kaos, etc.) but the content of the cover is laughable. So if you’re looking for a good laugh at some hideous covers, check out the link below. Oh and if you are on that list of the worst covers, contact me asap and ill help you mask your mediocreness with a little elbow grease. lol.

A Little bit about C.Adebule

admin : December 20, 2011 5:15 pm : Blog

My name is Corey Adebule and I started CA Designs Online in 2006 after I was commissioned to do a couple of Logos for some small businesses in the Downtown Orlando area through my father. I have always been an art student due to the teachings of my father(Timothy “Bushman #1″ Adebule- an accomplished painter, sculptor, and mixed media artist) and mother(amateur photographer and camera enthusiast) so becoming one myself was inevitable. My brothers and I would spend days drawing under the tutelage of our dad, take creative pictures under the tutelage of our mother, and then take the family camcorder outside to make our own movies with the neighborhood kids. When we got our first computer I spent months learning exactly how everything worked. Testing every program, opening it up and looking at the mysterious wires and chips, everything was so amazing. This became my new love. It wasnt until I learned how to merge my two loves of art and technology to begin my journey into the world of Multimedia Design. Today I am a student at the Academy of Design and Technology in Orlando Florida. I am working to acquire my Bachelors degree in Multimedia design and will have reached this goal in a matter months. Until then I continue to provide multimedia services with the help o my associates and the rest of the CA Designs Online Team. Welcome to the website and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
